Post-Ernesto blogging

That certainly was a lot of rain we had. Hope everyone is safe and dry, or at most slightly damp.

My brother's Election Day Advent Calendar is already getting some press. Cory Doctorow puts in a positive mention, and some outfit called Daily Candy gives the calendar the poetic treatment:
'Twas the night 'fore elections and throughout the metropolis,
Many creatures were stirring, even George Stephanopoulos.
The ballots were placed by the booths with great care
In hopes that no chads would be left hanging there....
Have you gotten your calendar yet?

UPDATE: Bruce Godfrey takes note and says, "Given the intensity of hacks like myself about politics, I cannot dismiss this idea out of hand." I think it's a great idea, though I may be biased here. Most of the innovative practices in politics in the last twenty years have originated from partisan outlets: talk radio and cable talk shows on the right, blogs and other forms of web-based organizing on the left. While I tend to be disparaging of nonpartisanship or bipartisanship as it's currently done, having some political space that's shared by all Americans is a good and healthy thing. Hopefully, this calendar will help make that space more viable than it is today.
